The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Legazpi reached their projected number of voters for the upcoming Local and National Elections on May 13, 2019.
According to COMELEC Elections Officer Atty. Jasmine Belarmino, they have recorded 5,823 voters who sought the services of their office for registration, an update of data, reactivation and voter transfer from July 2, 2018, to September 29, 2018. Belarmino stressed that they have met but have not exceeded their targets.
Legazpi City has an estimated 121,000 qualified voters for next elections.
Meanwhile, a press release dated October 3, 2019, from COMELEC stated that filing of the Certificate of Candidacy (COC) for running politicians next elections is set on October 11 to 12 and 15 to 19, 2018 while the Election Period runs from January 13, 2019, to June 12, 2019.
The same press release said that Senators and Party List Groups may campaign from February 12, 2019, to May 11, 2019. Members of the House of Representatives and other regional, provincial, city and municipal candidates will be campaigning from March 30, 2019, to May 11, 2019. (Reports from Radyo Veritas Legazpi)
