President Rodrigo Duterte attended the 24th National Federation of Motorcycle Clubs of the Philippines (NFMCP) convention held in Legazpi City on April 20 to 22.
Through his keynote speech, the President who is also a motorcycle enthusiast urged bike companies “to promote riding safety by observing traffic rules and (by) wearing proper protection”.
The convention labeled “Spice up your ride” was hosted by Bicol Steel Horses Inc. and was participated in by over 2,000 bikers all over the country. The 3-day event showcased safety riding skills activities, a unity ride from Legazpi Boulevard to Mayon Skyline Hotel with various tours and adventure opportunities for the participants. Likewise, BMW Motorrad, Ducati, Kawasaki, and Harley-Davidson had motorcycle exhibits at the Penaranda Park.
Meanwhile, Governor Al Francis Bichara was delighted that the convention took place again in Albay. He said that the province also hosted the event in 2000 when he too was the Governor of the province. (J. Realuyo & A. Barola)
